Her journey with Taekwondo began at age eight when she witnessed a demonstration at a Memorial Day parade, sparking a passion that would define her character and service to others.  Sanjana’s dedication to Taekwondo led her to achieve the rank of black belt, integrating the discipline’s core tenets into her personal and professional development. In 2020 (?), she joined the K2K board, bringing her expertise to the organization’s mission of serving special needs students through martial arts instruction. Her innovative teaching approach at her locally-established studio has successfully transformed students into highly communicative and engaged participants, providing them with a lifelong activity that builds confidence and skills.

Through her extensive volunteer work with K2K, Sanjana has experienced profound personal growth, learning valuable lessons from her students: curiosity from Zach, positivity from Ryan, perseverance from Teresa, and the power of indomitable spirit from Eric. Her work with the K2K Taekwondo program reinforces her original motivation for pursuing her black belt—creating positive environments where individual students can achieve meaningful growth and progress.

Beyond her martial arts accomplishments, Sanjana demonstrates exceptional leadership across multiple domains. As President of the Student Body Government at Morristown High School, she advocates for inclusive policies and collaborative solutions. Her athletic prowess shines as a varsity cross country runner, while her communication skills are evident in her role as captain of the Speech & Debate team.

Sanjna’s artistic talents are showcased through her performances as lead pianist and vocalist for the Spectrum Jazz Ensemble, as well as her award-nominated featured dancing in spring musical productions. Her commitment to diversity and inclusion extends through her active participation in the Spanish Honor Society, where she champions bilingual education and works alongside school faculty to foster a more inclusive campus atmosphere.

As an aspiring attorney, Sanjana has distinguished herself through independent research on intellectual property law and blockchain technology—remarkable achievements for a high school junior. Her academic rigor, combined with her practical leadership experience, positions her well for future success in legal studies and beyond.

Sanjna’s multifaceted contributions to her school and community, anchored by her deep commitment to the K2K Taekwondo program, demonstrate her exceptional character and potential for continued impact in whatever field she chooses to pursue.
