Cadence Sabatino
Cadence exemplifies the transformative power of martial arts, having evolved from a middle school student seeking after-school activities into a dedicated 2nd Dan Black Belt and accomplished community leader. What began as a practical solution to fill time has blossomed into a lifelong passion that has shaped her character, career, and commitment to service.
Cadence’s introduction to Taekwondo in middle school marked the beginning of a profound personal transformation. Under the guidance of Grand Master Yeison at Morristown Taekwondo, she not only mastered the technical aspects of the Korean martial art but also developed essential life skills including emotional regulation and behavioral control. The supportive community fostered by Grand Master Yeison has been instrumental in her continued growth and dedication to the discipline.
Her training experience has been enriched through her dual role as both student and instructor. Teaching children at Morristown Taekwondo has deepened her understanding of the art while contributing to the next generation of martial artists. This reciprocal relationship between learning and teaching has been a cornerstone of her martial arts journey.
For over five years, Cadence has been an integral part of the K2K program, where her natural leadership abilities and innovative teaching approach have made significant impact. Her role as class leader allows her to contribute creative ideas while maintaining the program’s high standards. Through her work with K2K, Cadence has developed enhanced patience—both with herself and her students—and has learned to collaborate effectively with fellow program leaders to present a unified approach to instruction.
The strong bonds she has formed with K2K students reflect her genuine commitment to their development and success. Her enthusiasm for the program and dedication to its mission have made her an invaluable team member and mentor.
Currently a senior at Drew University, Cadence strategically chose a local institution to maintain her involvement in martial arts training and instruction. Her academic focus on Cybersecurity represents her commitment to a rapidly evolving and critical field in technology. Balancing rigorous coursework with her other commitments demonstrates her exceptional time management skills and dedication to excellence.
Complementing her academic pursuits, Cadence works part-time as a certified mechanic—a passion she discovered in high school and pursued through vocational training. This hands-on profession showcases her diverse skill set and practical problem-solving abilities, qualities that enhance both her mechanical work and her teaching effectiveness.
Cadence’s ability to successfully balance university studies, professional work, and extensive martial arts involvement speaks to her exceptional organizational skills and unwavering commitment. Her continued presence in the dojang, whether focusing on personal training or instructing others, demonstrates the depth of her dedication to Taekwondo and its community.
